The North Face Spring/Summer Collection Fashion Show 2011

2nd April 2011, Marina Square, North Face held a fashion show showcasing their authentic, innovative and technically advanced outdoor apparel, equipment and footwear as part of their new Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

For Spring/ Summer 2011, North Face is putting a focus back on what matters most – the activities tge products are design for. which means making high performance apparel, equipment and footwear that is suited to meet the special demand of hiking, trail running, backpacking, trekking and travel.

The design philosphy emphasizes function – minmixing weigh while maximising movement, wicking, UV protection and durability. Stretch materials and articulated construction allows unrestricted movement in high performance presuits, being constructed lightweight it reduces the load to the user.

Durability is enhanced with abrasion-resistant fabrics and reinforced stitching for extra long life and calculated construction reduces pressure point when wearing a pack. Wicking fabric dissipate moisture, keeping the skin dry. Material chosen is not only quick drying but it provide UV protection too.

Among some of the product showcase during the fasion show, the trail running and exploration clothes category that caught my eye the most. North Face has release their new paramount valley convertable pants which will look nicely together with the Voyage woven shirt. As someone who travel and backpack often to other countries to run, explore, climb and hike; having superior durability and light weight clothing that can be use for hiking and doubles up as a casual wear is always good. Paramount Valley Convertible pant converts from pants to bermudas in seconds by just unzipping its legs.

Another that caught my attention was their trail running shoe range that was worn by the models. 2 trail shoe in particular was showcase – the Single track and Double track trail running shoe. Both shoe is features the Snake Plate Protection on their outsole that reduces stone bruising on the underfoot without sacrificing its durability. A stable trail running shoe that doesn’t feel like a brick.
