Singapore, April 2015 – This April, Boston-based New Balance will update the award-winning 890v4 with the New Balance 890v5. This update continues to deliver on the surprisingly light ride of REVlite, but with key design features maintained, and improved that are sure to please fans of the 890 series. The 890v5 will debut in a variety of chic colors for men and women in April 2015 with the suggested retail price of SGD179.
The New Balance 890 series has been embraced by runners around the globe for its forward thinking, responsive ride that is engineered to withstand fast. The 890v5 remains an ideal choice for the neutral runner who wants to run fast or feel fast in an extremely lightweight package, without sacrificing durability, cushioning, or support.
Similar to its predecessors, the new 890v5 continues to have an 8mm midsole, allowing runners to strike more mid-foot but allowing plenty of cushioning, just in case. The REVlite midsole and extended ABZORB® crash pad continue to offer runners that cradle-like feel, and now with an even sleeker sidewall design.
Runners can expect the same intelligent geometries designed into each aspect of what is underfoot, and can enjoy a snappy responsive ride and a continuous transition from the toe spring in the forefoot.
The upper package of the 890v5 continues to be modern, city-chic, edgy, and made with a barely-there vision, allowing you to enjoy this incredibly light ride while feeling like the upper might just be a second-skin on the foot. A two-way stretch mesh upper with no-sew overlays and thin TPU film allows the foot to move comfortably through the gait cycle, while still wrapping it securely. A new neoprene stretch tongue ensures a comfortable lace up experience for each runner to get their exact fit and feel.
In 2011 the 890 series launched New Balance into the forefront of doing light the right way. With the 890v5 New Balance has created an even better shoe with integrity and intent behind each notch and groove. The 890v5 respects what runners fell in love with all those years ago, a futuristic REVlite platform with a responsive ride that is engineered to withstand fast, yet still protect the runner.
