Review: Nike LunarEclipse +2 Men & Woman ‘s Shoe Review.

Nike LunarEclipse +2 Woman’s reviewed by ReefyBamBam and Men’s version reviewed by Minicoopers51

The Nike LunarEclipse+ 2 Running Shoe delivers a snug, adjustable fit, plush cushioning and stability without stiffness.  Equip with the Dynamic fit system that tailors the shoe perfectly to your foot. Lunarlon cushioning for reduced weight and enhanced flexibility.  Soft resilient foam core encased within a supportive foam carrier for lightweight, ultra-plush cushioning, springy response and support.

Dynamic Support in the midsole provides comfortable stability without the added weight or stiffness of a traditional medial post and adapts to ones personal stride for ultimate stability fit. The dynamic fit system features soft material “fingers” that wrap the midfoot and arch from under the foot and connect to the laces. They move with the foot as you run for a truly glove-like fit, reducing the space between foot and shoe for total comfort.

A floating heel support clip (a horseshoe-shaped piece that wraps the perimeter of the heel) offers a snug fit and moves with the foot to help prevent it from rolling too far inward or outward, reducing under or overpronation.

Additional Details

  • Lightweight mesh upper for breathability
  • Plush foam collar for comfort and heel lockdown
  • Reflectivity for enhanced visibility in low light
  • Flex grooves for enhanced flexibility and a smooth stride

DESIGN

When I first opened the box, the Orange Color was much more vivid than shown on the website. The material was a very smooth type of mesh and the reflective Nike Swoosh logo was a great addition to the overall look of the shoe. The swoosh overlayed a type of mesh to create better breathability, which is a nice touch. That mesh covered the middle of the heel clip and the new dynamic system, which makes the shoe a little lighter instead of using flywire. Overall the shoe looked very sleek. – ReefyBamBam on the Nike LunarEclipse +2 Woman’s version.

FIT

Putting them on for the first time, I can immediately feel how snug and the shoe fit and a little narrow so it may be uncomfortable for people with wider feet. The dynamic fit system could probably be the reason why it was design to be snug. I do not recommend getting a bigger size because the length is a perfect fit. If you do get a bigger size, you will tend to trip on yourself because the shoe would appear to be too long.

The tongue little was thick and appear not to be built-in as part of the shoe. The heel clip made the shoe very stable when running and when doing lateral movements. – Minicoopers51

TEST

While walking, running and jumping in them, the ride seemed very smooth, plush and was very stable despite the reduction of area in the heel clip. Every step was like walking on clouds. Overall, it was a little sung and narrow, but very stable and soft, so people with wide feet, please try it on before buying. – ReefyBamBam

Running a few short distance run, the shoe does provide a superior cushioning every stride of the way, whether you are a over pronator or under pronator, the sole dynamically adapts to give you that cushioning support needed.  The Cushion is thick and thus runners will tend to go heel strike rather than forefoot as you it feels more comfortable running that way. However the Eclipse does have a very forefoot sole lugs pattern, which allows beginner forefoot runners to make us of to train and transition to forefoot running. – Minicoopers51

Running With Nike+

Just like all the other top of the range NikeRunning footwear, the Lunar Eclipse 2 is compactible with Nike+ therefore you insert the Nike+ receiver into the shoe and sync it with your ipod, Iphone or even the Nike+ sportsband and you are all ready to be on your way to clock the distance with Nike.

LUNAR ECPLISE 1 VS LUNAR ECLIPSE 2

Not much of a change between the Eclipse 2 and its predecessor one change was the addition of the reflective swoosh and its new location as it was moved from the back of the shoe to the middle of the shoe. Another change was the tongue of the shoe is completely detached, unlike the first Lunar Eclipse, which felt and looked unique. The heel clip was now similar to the use for the Lunarglide 3, the new design have cut down use of the plastics thus reducing weight of the shoe.

The more obvious change was the dynamic fit system, which is now being replaced with the flywire. Personally, the flywire looks much better and made the shoe look more high tech.

Fitting wise, the dynamic fit system locks down your feet more, which makes you feel more support and stable.

FINAL THOUGHTS

“The Lunar Eclipse to is the top of the line when it comes to Nike Running shoes. I recommend this to anyone that needs a shoe that will protect your foot and treat it like royalty. The ride is smooth and stable and I think the shoe looks amazing; it’s just the fit that may cause a problem for some.” -ReefyBamBam

“They are very comfortable and provide support and stability. They feel springy and I feel like it gives me an extra bounce to my run. I would recommend these shoes for casual to intermediate runners who want a shoe that is extremely comfortable, but lightweight as well” -minicoopers51

  1. I truly love your site.. Very nice colors & theme. Did you develop this website yourself?

Please reply back as I’m wanting to create my own personal blog and would like to find out where you got this from or exactly what the theme is called. Thanks!
