25th October 2011 was the official opening of the first ever South-East Asian’s Salomon Branded Store which is stegically situated in Velocity, the shop is equipped with expert running and trail running products for all passionate runners.
The 804 sq ft Store displays an array of Salomon gears, attire and footwear that are specifically catered to your every trail running needs all under one roof.
As part of their official launch, they have invited one of Salomon’s top Athletes, Kilian Jornet who is a World-class trail running champion who has won prestigious races such as the SkyRunner World Series and Western States 100. He holds the World Record for Mount Kilimanjaro Ascent and combined Ascent/Descent (5:23:50, 7:14:00)
Kilian was also recently crowned the champion for the Skyrunner® SuperCup at the Mount Kinabalu in the recent International Climbathon on 23 October 2011.
A welcome speech was given by General Manager of VGO Corporation Limited, Ms Joyce Bose, and the store was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by CEO of VGO Corporation Limited, Mr Steven Goh, and Kilian.
A trail running workshop was then conducted by Kilian for registered guests where he got up-close and personal with his local fans.
Salomon Global Outdoor Sports & Community Marketing Manager, Mr Gregory Vollet, also flew down from France to share Salomon’s history, philosophy, its product range, and the extensive development process that goes behind each Salomon pieces.
The event ended with a snake-line queue formed by the guests for photo opportunities and an autographing session with Kilian.
