Training: Nike Training Run City Gallery

Training Run 3rd October 2010,

Nike Running Club organize a 5k training run at Marina Bay City Gallery. Despite the gloomy weather due to the morning showers many still turn up for the training run. We gather infornt of the Marina Bay City Gallery at 7am, where they conducted a short talk and share tips on how to improve your run. This was a great opportunity for me to try out my New Nike Lunarglide+2 and the sportsband v2 (Yes, I’m training back with Nike Sportsband after my Ipod and Nike+Ipod had failed on me).

We gathered and did some warm up before we start running off together with the pacer around the 5k route. It was a refreshing and scenic City run with lots to see from the Floating platform and Esplanade. Due to some reason we did not make our way across the Helix bridge but instead we ran on the bridge opposite to it. The Pacers was good in motivating the participant and waiting for them to ensure their safety. Once we completed the course, we gathered back to the Marina Bay City Gallery and cheer on the remaining runners. Refreshment and light snacks were provide to the participant before we gather again for some sharing session with the group on some of the reasons that had make us to start running.

The training run ended around 9:45am and we broke off from there. I was still feel like running just a little bit more so that is what I did. I ran back around the training route but this time Instead of the 5k I ran a little bit further; into the F1 pit at the Singapore Flyer, U-turn and ran into the Helix Bridge before continuing back to the City Gallery.

Total Distance Reflected on my Nike+ Sportsband 12.21k. Total Coolness.. I’m aiming to cover 100k before the Nike City Race on the 24 October. This was the first time I’m running in the LunarGlide+2 or rather this is the first time I’m wearing a Running Nike shoes to run.

Nike Lunarglide +2

The Lunarglide +2 feels light when running due to the Flywire technology that they put in place and  the dynamic heel support provide just the right amount cushion to absorb and minimize the impact from heel strike. My only regret is that I should have gotten a darker color.

Nike Running Club have a few more upcoming  Training Run before the 10k City Race.
